Fraudulent email, or phishing, is the most widely used technique by cybercriminals. They impersonate banks, suppliers or even colleagues to steal credentials or install malware.
Signs that reveal a fraud
- Sender with a strange or slightly altered domain (e.g. secure-bank.com instead of bank.com).
- Urgency and threats: "your account will be blocked in 24 hours".
- Links that do not match the text when you hover over them.
- Spelling mistakes and generic greetings ("Dear customer").
- Requests for confidential data or urgent transfers.
What to do when in doubt
Do not click, do not download attachments and do not reply. Verify through an alternative channel (official phone number) and report the email to your company’s security officer.
Regular staff training reduces the success of phishing campaigns by up to 80%.
Our awareness courses include real phishing simulations to train your team.
